Some space facts.

The activities come in individual bags with all their items.

image

The first activity we did was the planetarium.

image

You place a constellation sticker on the paper, secure it on the tube with the band, poke holes on the dots, and use the pen/flashlight to write the constellation name, & shine the light through the tube. Shine it on the wall or roof & you have your constellations! This was so neat!

The second activity is the Space Sand Kit. This had several different activities to do with the sand. It doesn’t get wet. It mimics the sand on Mars. I’ll show one.

image

This is when we froze the sand. It separated from the water and all the sand on top just came right off. It was fun to play around with.

image

And the third activity is the Rocket Balloons Kit. It’s about using the air to mimic rocket momentum. This included 2 activities.

image

One activity is using the pump to blow up the large balloon & let it go. This was probably her favorite activity. And the second is a Balloon Race. You tape straws to the 2 balloons, secured with clothes pins, thread the string through the straw, tie it between 2 chairs & release the pin. They race by releasing the air.

image

Also included is a Moon Chart. We get to chart our Moon as it goes through it’s cycles. This is half of it. It’s really long.

And her badge of honor! She is now an expert on Astronomy!

This was a great box. With her age we did all the activities together. Older kids could do them by themselves. But, it was so great to teach her as we played. She learned so many things about space & this gave us the tools to be able to explain it to her! This is a great summer box. If you’d like to check them out you can do that HERE!

Thanks so much for this review. I’ve been thinking about getting the 3-month summer discovery boxes from Green Kids Crafts, but was kind of on the fence. But after this review, I think I’m going to go ahead and order! My 4-year old son would *love* this space box so much. Thank you again for posting your experience. 🙂

    • Your welcome! The Koala Crate is pretty good for their age too. If you haven’t tried them yet you get that one for $10 & cancel from your account if he’s not into it. I like that the activities are separated in all these boxes so you can do them at different times.
